Emergency Restoration Company in Calabasas, Ca

My husband and I bought our first house less than six months ago, and already have had to do some major surprise repairs. One day our ceiling collapsed and exposed years of water and mold damage. This was not something we could put off, so we jumped on a search. We worked with First To Respond Restoration after having to fire another company who started our job. We actually met Chris at FTR before this other company, they were in fact, the first ones to respond. Not knowing what mold remediation entailed, we compared the two companies’ estimates side by side trying to see if we could make sense of the line items. We just saw that this other company was about half the cost to do the same job. We did NOT take the time we should have to notice and review the 17-page report with pictures and descriptions that Chris sent us along with his estimate. We ignored our gut telling us that this other company didn’t have believable reviews all made on the same date and overlooked that FTR had excellent and consistent reviews. I don’t know why we didn’t take the time to do our research, probably because we were so worried about the mold that had made our ceiling collapse seemingly out of nowhere and we had a one-year old baby in the next room. When the other company changed their plan for what needed to happen with no straight answer and lots of variation in cost, we had to question all of it. It was now going to be 7-10 times what they initially estimated. We decided to put a pause on our work with them and get a third opinion, from Chris at FTR. He could tell we were being taken advantage of and offered to come back and assess the job again on a Saturday morning. Chris spent lots of time with us to answer our questions and provided a detailed and updated work order/estimate. We decided to change companies and close out with the other one. Best decision we made during this nightmare. Chris explained what the plan was, and how the next week would look. Davin (Project Manager), Erick (Lead Tech), Andre, & Byron were excellent. I was updated 1-2 times a day and notified if there were any new findings. I have documentation and photographs of the entire process to submit to our insurance company, and their work is extremely thorough. Mold remediation is not a pleasant experience, but the guys were all so helpful, professional, and had a great attitude—it was truly a pleasure to do business with them. We recommend First To Respond for your restoration needs, over and above the rest. Straight forward, honest, professional.

Chris and his team were AMAZING - I called them at 5.30am in December, after waking up to our house flooding due to blocked drainage after 6+ days of ran. They responded promptly, were at our house within 40 mins with 5 guys + gear, stayed until everything was cleaned out / mitigated. They then worked in / on our house for the following 2-3 weeks to dry things out, remove dry-wall and in their work, found mold that need removal and treatment. Excellent communication the whole time, thoughtful, looked after our things well (we were out of town when they packed up and did the dry wall work) and charged precisely how much they said. I would 100% recommend them and will 100% use them again if needed. thank you!

Chris and the team still don’t understand how much they helped us during such a stressful situation. Chris was amazing at communicating with us throughout the process and took care of every single detail from the removal, clean up, testing set up etc. His team were so professional and fun to work with. Water Damage+Professional team= fun. Strange right? That’s how awesome this company is .I will always be grateful to this amazing team.

First, I want to thank Chris and Ruben for the amazing job they did. I was in a stressful situation with a slab leak that I found one day. They created a scope of work and worked with my insurance company to get the insurance process going to start the clean up work and were so professional in doing the mold remediation and the demolition of my kitchen. Letting them work with my insurance company was a savior for me . Ruben, my project manager was great to work with. He was there every day to make sure the anything was getting done. These guys are the real deal, if you want honest, professional people to work with you these are the guys.

I'm a general contractor, and come in contact with numerous other businesses, contractors and service companies. It's rare that I come across a business that provides competitive pricing, first class service and complete honesty... First to Respond Restoration is one of those few companies!

I first used First 2 Respond in one of my apartment buildings, which unfortunately had a leak upstairs, which lead to water damage and mold in the two units downstairs below the leaking upstairs unit.

I received numerous quotes, was about to proceed with another company, but fortunately, decided to get one more bid. I received a bid from Chris, of F2R, on time, and it came in well below the competition.
His men showed up on time, worked studiously, and made sure to leave the tenants apartments clean at the end of each day, in spite of the fact that the tenants had been relocated during construction and wouldn't be returning until the work was completely finished!

Shortly after completing this job, I discovered that there was a leak in my crawl space in my own home. A "leak" actually doesn't fully discribe it.. my basement was flooded, with all of my possessions stored there covered with water and mold!

Chris showed up within 20 minutes of my initial call, and had a plumber at my house within the hour. His men showed up the next day, working for three weeks, usually until 10pm each night, to get the basement dried out, the damaged drywall and insulation removed, and put everything back together!
